26th Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship

Captains Golf Course - Starboard & Port | May 22 - May 23, 2023

 

Entry Fee: $380.00 per team

Entries Open: 3/2/2023 at 10:00am

Entries Close: 4/20/2023 at 5:00pm

 

Eligibility:

  • Any two-person team of amateur golfers (ages 55+ as of May 22nd, 2023) who have an active Mass Golf Membership.
  • Combined Handicap Index® not exceeding 12.0 (at the time of registration).
  • Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Super Senior Division Eligibility: Both golfers (ages 65+ as of May 22nd, 2023). All Super Senior Division teams will also be competing for the overall Senior Four-Ball Championship. 

 

 

Entry Procedures:

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Format:

Competition will be 36 Holes at Four-Ball Stroke Play.

All Super Senior Division teams will also be competing for the overall Senior Four-Ball Championship.

 

Field:

The field is limited to 180 teams. Registrations for the Senior Four-Ball Championships will no longer be first come, first served. Registration will now be based on a low-to-high index selection process outlined HERE Waitlist teams will be notified of their playing status by the Mass Golf office. The field is guaranteed to comprise of at least thirty (30) Super Senior Division teams (ages 65+).

 

Exemptions (Upon receipt of the online registration and fee, the players in the following categories are exempt); 2023 Senior Four-Ball Championship Exemptions

 

Schedule:

Championship Proper

Round 1 – May 22 (18 Holes)

Round 2 – May 23 (18 Holes)

Any tie for first place (in either division) will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff at Captains GC.

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation:

Cart fee is included in entry fee for both Championship rounds. Caddies and pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) are permitted.

 

Food & Beverage:

Mass Golf will be providing a complimentary luncheon on May 22 for all competitors.

 

Starting Times:

Championship proper starting times & player information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.

 

Prizes:

Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site(s).

 

Trophy:

The James Shea Memorial Trophy will be presented to the Champion.

The Super Senior Division Trophy will be presented to the Champion.

 

Practice Rounds:

Courtesy practice privileges are at the discretion of the host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

 

Inclement Weather/Cancelled Round Stipulation:

Inclement Weather/Cancelled Round Stipulation; If 36-holes of competition cannot be completed as scheduled, the low 18-hole score from each site will be used to determine Co-Champions in both divisions.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

Competitors withdrawing from an event should notify a member of the Mass Golf staff as soon as practicable. Refunds may be processed based on the following criteria:

  • At least seven days prior to the event
    • entry fee minus a $20 administrative fee will be refunded
  • Less than seven days and at least 48 hours prior to the event
    • 50% of entry fee will be refunded
  • Within 48 hours of the event
    • no refunds will be processed
